Emergency services arrived at the scene in Peterhead a short time ago after receiving reports of a fire at North Bay Pelagic on Kirk Square. Six fire engines are currently tackling the blaze (photo courtesy of Isla Parsons) Six fire engines – from Aberdeen, Peterhead, Altens, Fraserburgh and Ellon – have been called to the site and are urgently trying to stop the flames from spreading to cannisters containing ammonia. The flames and smoke can be seen for miles in either direction, including from inside Peterhead’s Balmoor Stadium. Hundreds of onlookers are now down at the scene. The Press and Journal understands there is nobody injured at this stage, as a result of the fire.
