Peterhead fish factory fire: Pictures show investigation getting under way

A joint police and fire service investigation into the cause of a blaze which consumed one of the north-east’s largest fish factories is under way.

The fire tore through the Northbay Pelagic facility in Peterhead on Saturday, and an extensive demolition and clean-up project is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A joint investigation is ongoing with Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“So far there is nothing to indicate, at this very early stage, that the cause of the fire was suspicious.”
