Football fans of all ages are being urged to hot foot it to an annual charity event in honour of an inspirational Aberdeen man who lost his battle with skin cancer.
Now in its third year, the Aaron Williams Football Tournament will run from July 6 to 25.
It is being organised in memory of Mr Williams, who was only 25 when he died from melanoma in December 2011.
This year categories will include ladies and over 40s for the first time, alongside the usual primary age teams, under eights and under 16s.
There is a £10 entrance fee per team and all funds will be donated to the Friends of Anchor and Cash for Kids charities.
Northfield policeman Kevin Lynch, who is co-organising the contest with Dean Ramsay, 29, a quality control inspector for Inovate systems, said he had high hopes for the event.
He said: “The tournament has grown every year and we hope that it will eventually become a national event across Scotland.
“This is a great opportunity for people to come together to enjoy some friendly football while raising money for deserving charities in Aberdeen.”
The tournament has been welcomed by Mr Wilson’s mum Sandra, 49.
She said: “Whenever anyone asks me about what Kevin is doing I’m just left speechless.
“It keeps his memory alive and we don’t want Aaron to be forgotten.”
Third year Northfield Academy pupil Keiran Pratt, 14, is looking forward to competing – for the third time.
He said: “It’s great to make new friends and get involved with everyone.”
