The local authority has extended the deadline for nominations for its annual awards ceremony by 10 days.
The closing date for the third annual Inspiring Aberdeenshire awards, which recognise the remarkable people within the area who have made a difference to its education or children’s services, had originally been set for Wednesday.
It is hoped the extension, which moves the closing date for nominations to Saturday, January 31, will encourage residents who have not already done so to submit their suggestions.
The chairwoman of the authority’s education committee, Councillor Isobel Davidson, said she was looking forward to seeing the nominations.
“There are a lot of great things going on across education and children’s services and we are lucky that there are so many talented and enthusiastic people living and working in the area,” she said.
There are 11 categories in this year’s awards, including the “best of” for each of the six districts within Aberdeenshire.
Other categories include the “extra mile” award for service staff members and the “outstanding leader of the year” award.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place at Haddo House, near Ellon, in June.
