The incident happened on the unclassified road between Keig and Montgarrie near Alford yesterday afternoon around 2.30pm. He had been driving a silver Citroen Berlingo van. The road was closed while police and emergency services attended. Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle in the lead up to the accident to contact the force on 101. They are particularly keen to speak to a delivery driver who alerted nearby residents of the collision. A spokeswoman said: “As is standard with all fatal road traffic collisions, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
