A north-east teenager has set her sights on winning a prestigious beauty pageant.
Brody Collie, who lives in the Bridge of Don area of Aberdeen, will compete in the Scottish finals of the international Face of the Globe contest.
And the 15-year old, who won Best Newcomer at Miss 2014 in Inverness in November, said she was stunned when she found out she would be competing in May’s final in Glasgow.
The Oldmachar Academy pupil said: “I was overwhelmed, I didn’t think I’d be able to get in.
“My sister-in-law had been doing pageants for a while so I decided to apply for one.
“She told me it was a lot of fun and that it gives you a lot of confidence and makes you feel good about yourself.
“Now I’ve been on stage, I feel better about myself. It’s nerve-wracking but enjoyable.”
As well as appearing in front of the judges at the Holiday Inn at Glasgow Airport, Miss Collie also has to raise funds for the Rainbow Child Foundation.
And while she is hoping to continue her success in the pageant world, she is also doing her best to match it in the classroom.
She said: “My prelims just finished last week and I passed everything.
“My actual exams start a week-and-a-half after the contest, so I will just need to make sure I’ve done all the work I need to do just now so I’ve got time to study.
“My friends and family were all really excited for me and supportive. They all gave me donations to give me a starting boost, I’m trying to raise as much money as possible.”
Mum Karyn Brown, a procurement specialist, is delighted with her daughter’s achievement.
She said: “Getting through to the finals was just amazing, I’m so proud of her.
“She’s doing so well passing her exams and raising money for charity.
“We are all standing by her and supporting her and hopefully she will go the whole way.”
The finals of the pageant take place on May 2. The top three in each category gain a place in the UK finals later this year.
