People in Aberdeen will have the opportunity to grill First Minister Nicola Sturgeon later this month.
The SNP leader and her cabinet colleagues are holding a question and answer session in the Music Hall on Union Street on February 16.
The evening event will allow the public to quiz ministers on local issues such as city centre development, the future of the oil and gas industry and the prospect of a City Deal to give the region new powers to boost the local economy.
It will follow a meeting of the Cabinet in the Granite City earlier in the day.
Ms Sturgeon said: “The government I lead intends to be open, listening, and available in a way we have not seen before – the most open and accessible government that Scotland has ever had.
“That is why we are making sure that the business of government is open to everyone who wants to be involved, and why we are taking cabinet meetings to all parts of the country.
“I’m hugely looking forward to meeting up with members of the public and hearing their views when we come to Aberdeen later this month.
“They will not only be heard but will also result in real action.”
Ms Sturgeon, who replaced Aberdeenshire East MSP Alex Salmond as first minister in November, said the government’s strongest focus was on growing the economy, protecting public services, tackling inequality and empowering communities.
“But we must be united in the business of making Scotland a better place to live and work, she added.
“Together we can build a fairer and more prosperous country.”
The first meeting of Ms Sturgeon’s cabinet was in Dumfries on January 26.
