The fire service is staging a fatal crash reconstruction in the north-east’s biggest town this weekend.
Saturday’s Crash Live event in Peterhead is part of the fire brigade’s ongoing effort to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on Aberdeenshire’s roads.
The reconstruction, which is taking place at Peterhead’s fire station, will focus on the emergency response to a serious collision from first responders, crash investigation and the “harrowing role” police officers have of informing victims’ relatives.
Station Manager Bruce Milne said: “Sadly we continue to see people lose their lives on the north east’s roads.
“We are continually working hard with our partners in the other emergency services and local authorities to try and raise awareness about the importance of road safety and by doing that hopefully reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.”
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are urging members of the public to attend the Crash Live event which is aimed all ages. The event runs from 2pm to 4pm.
