A man died yesterday after taking ill in his car on an Aberdeen street – mere yards from his own front door.
The 46-year-old, named locally as Dave Moore, was found inside the silver Citreon Xsara on Fowler Avenue, Northfield, at around 9.45am.
The police and ambulance services were called to the incident, which is said to have happened just outside his family home.
An ambulance spokesman said: “We were called to Fowler Avenue to reports of a male possibly deceased. We did take him into Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He was found on the street.”
Police officers cordoned off the street around the vehicle for around three hours yesterday morning as they carried out inquiries into the incident.
It is thought that Mr Moore is survived by two sons and a daughter.
They were not treating the incident as suspicious.
A police spokeswoman said that the man had been getting into his car in the morning when he started feeling chest pains and the emergency services were called.
The cause of his death was believed to be a heart attack
A further Police statement read: “Police Scotland can advise that at 9.45am today, officers were called to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service with a medical incident in the Fowler Avenue area of Aberdeen.
“A 46-year-old man was taken to ARI, where he sadly died.
“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The street was re-opened to the public at around 12.30pm.
Tributes poured in for Mr Moore online last night, with one woman posting: “He has been in my thoughts all morning. Poor lad, so sorry for his loss xx.”
One woman who knew him posted: “RIP to a lovely guy who will be missed so much by his family and friends.”
Others posted: “R.I.P to a lovely guy thinking of his boys at this sad time” and “So sad. R.I.P. You’re gonna be a big miss.”
