The blaze broke out on land between Gartly and Huntly at around 11pm. Three fire appliances, two from Huntly and one from Keith, brought the blaze under control by 1am. A fire and rescue spokeswoman said the crews arrived on scene to find the blaze “well alight”. The firefighters used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to bring the blaze under control. The spokeswoman added: “It’s a fire in a farm building up near Huntly. The building is 10m (33ft) by 5m (16ft). It was well alight. “That came in at 11.03pm. The stop message is through now. One jet is still in use. There were no rescues or casualties.” They were still damping down the fire at 1am. The building is said to house a biomass boiler.
