A car has crashed into a pylon on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road near Huntly.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene near Cairnie at around 3.30pm on Sunday.
It is understood the car left the road near Ashgrove Filling Station and hit the pylon, before landing on its roof.
One witness said the pylon – which was believed to had caught fire – came down into a field, with wires all over the road.
One man, who managed to get out his vehicle himself, was passed into the care of the ambulance service for an assessment. The air ambulance also attended as a precaution.
He will be reported to the procurator fiscal in connection to road traffic offences.
Homes lose power due to pylon damage
A total of 13 postcodes in the area lost power, with SSEN engineers working at the scene for several hours to restore it.
All postcode were reconnected to the network at around midnight.
The road remained closed to traffic until 1.45am on Monday as well while work is carried out.

A police spokesman said: “Around 3.35pm on Sunday, October 9, police were called to the A96 near Cairnie, following a report of a one-car crash.
“One man was taken to hospital for assessment and will be reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with road traffic offences.
“The road was closed due to damage to a pylon, reopening around midnight.”
Three traffic police units was sent to the scene, along with additional units to close the road.
A diversion was in place via the A95 Banff road and B9022.

Three fire appliances were dispatched to the scene from Huntly, Keith and Aberchirder.
A fire service spokesman said: “The call came in at 3.36pm. We sent three appliances but did not have to extricate anybody form the vehicle.”
He added crews remained at the scene to assist SSEN and make the area safe.
The last appliance left at 5.25pm.
