A man crashed into a car with four people inside during an alleged chase with police in Aberdeen today.
Emergency services were called to the incident between a white Nissan Pixo and a grey Vauxhall Meriva on Park Street, Pittodrie, at around 11.30am.
The 25-year-old is said to have collided into a car with four passengers inside.
The Nissan driver – who was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with “non life-threatening injuries” – has since been charged by police for road traffic offences.
A police spokeswoman said the car had “been seen acting in suspicious circumstances” on Summerfield Terrace “prior to the collision”.
She added: “Inquiries are on-going into this and the collision”.
Witnesses reported seeing the Nissan, with police allegedly in pursuit, shooting down the road and crashing into the Meriva at the Park Street junction.
A fire and rescue spokesman said they used trauma bags to see to two casualties on scene.
He added: “It was a two vehicle road traffic collision, we got the call at 11.35am. We send two appliances from Aberdeen Central with nine firefighters.
“We did use a trauma bag to help the two casualties. Small gear and shovels were used to cover spillage of petrol.”
The road has been closed at the street’s junction with Summerhill Terrace.
Diversions are in place at Jasmine Terrace and Constitution Street.
The driver has been reported to the procurator fiscal.
