Following today’s exciting news that Lewis Capaldi will play P&J Live early next year, we’re looking back to the time the self-declared Scottish Beyonce performed at the popular Aberdeen venue back in 2020.
The said gig took place on March 15 – just before the first coronavirus lockdown.
On the last night of his UK tour Capaldi said he couldn’t think of “a better place to end it than Aberdeen” – well, “except from Los Angeles,” he joked.
The Brit Award winner kicked off the Granite City gig by belting out his hit Grace, with our reviewer noting that “the truly electric atmosphere left goosebumps on the skin”. You can read the full review of the last pre-pandemic Aberdeen gig here.
Lewis, who will return to P&J Live on January 23, will undoubtedly perform some of his biggest hits such as Someone You Loved and Before You Go in addition to songs from his upcoming album which is yet to get a release date.
The singer’s most recent single Forget Me was released on September 9 and already racked up more than 45 million streams on Spotify.
Tickets for Lewis Capaldi’s Aberdeen gig will go on general sale at 9am on Friday October 28. The artist and venue pre-sale will take place on Wednesday October 26.
In the meantime, take a look at some of our favourite pics from the singer’s previous visit to Aberdeen. All photos were taken by Colin Rennie/ DC Thomson.
