This is the third demonstration against the controversial plans, led by Muse Developments in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, which would mean the historic site would be re-developed into an office, retail and hotel complex.
Yesterday, a series of new images were released which, according to Aberdeen City Council’s finance convenor Willie Young, depicted “a true image of what the development will be”.
Mr Young, council leader Jenny Laing, and planning convener Ramsay Milne all turned down an invitation to attend today’s demonstration.
However, the trio have asked five of the scheme’s fiercest critics to a meeting at the council headquarters for discussions next week.
