Hornblowers in Gourdon bagged the title of Best Chippy Chips in Scotland in the annual Choice Chip Awards.
The contest, run by the Potato Council, is decided on votes cast by the public.
Loyal customers of Hornblowers helped it secure first place in Scotland, which owner Alex Grahame described as a “real honour”.
He said: “Being recognised as the best chips in Scotland is a real achievement and honour. The way our chips are served to perfection is down to their preparation, we only use the highest quality potatoes and ensure the oil they are cooked in is constantly fresh.”
Last week, Mr Grahame and his wife Ruth revealed plans to create a new bistro restaurant and takeaway at Aberdeen beach.
The couple want to take over the site of the former Jimmy Chungs restaurant, which was razed after a huge fire last year.
More than 50 firefighters tackled the blaze in February last year.
Now five new eateries could be built in the space, if approved by Aberdeen City Council.
The Choice Chip Awards are run as part of Chip Week, which starts today.mon
