The accident in the city’s St Machar Drive was one of a series on north-east roads yesterday morning. The biker was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after his white Kawasaki ZX and a brown Ford Mondeo crashed around 8.10am. Police and paramedics were called to the scene and an ambulance service spokeswoman said the motorcyclist had suffered suspected back injuries. Shortly before 8am, a white Land Rover Defender careered off the B977 Kintore-Dunecht road, near Kintore. No one was injured in the accident although the route was closes for several hours. And around 9am, a tractor ended up on its side after crashing on the B9002 Huntly-Insch road, near Kennethmont. The driver was not hurt but the road was blocked until 10.30am. Meanwhile, a black Honda Civic and a black Renault involved in a collision on the A96 Aberdeen-Inverness road at the Burghead turn-off. No one was injured in the accident, which happened just after 11.30am.
