Firefighters have battled a fire at a derelict north-east church.
The fire broke out at an abandoned church in Hatton’s Main Street at around 7.30am.
Four fire appliances – two from Ellon and two from Peterhead – were called to the scene.
An incident support van, an incident command unit and a height vehicle were also called in from Aberdeen.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “We have got a derelict church on fire at the moment. The call came in at 7.30am and additional appliances were later called.
“I think they have got one hose reel jet, four breathing apparatus in use.”
The fire was brought under control by 10am.
The ambulance service were not called to the incident.
Rupert Murdoch’s grandmother Annie Brown laid the foundation stone at West Church in Hatton before emigrating to Australia with her husband in 1884.
