The owners of Aberdeen pub McNasty’s want to turn abandoned offices upstairs into a “boutique hotel”.
The empty space was previously used for health and safety training for oil and gas workers.
But the upper floors of the 35 Summer Street address have now been empty for some time.
Under the new scheme put forward by owners Booktwin Ltd, they could soon be converted into a 12-bedroom hotel.

The offices failed to attract any interest while on the market as they are.
The new visitor venue proposed instead would stretch across two floors above McNasty’s and the adjoining Nawaab Tandoori.

Documents sent to the council explain that the hotel would be operated by the bar downstairs.
Dating back more than 30 years, McNasty’s is one of Aberdeen’s oldest independent pubs.
It prides itself on its 14 “massive ultra HD screens” and “roof-raising” karaoke sessions.
Boutique plans come after big hotels shut doors
It comes after some bigger hotels at the top end of Union Street decided to close their doors in recent years.
Both the Travelodge and Bauhaus hotels on Justice Mill Lane have now been turned into student apartments.
