An Aberdeen charity is on the lookout for 50 elves to help spread Christmas cheer across the city centre this winter.
Santa’s Workshop, run by Charlie House, is returning to the Bon Accord Centre throughout November and December.
Families can visit Father Christmas himself in the workshop from November 12 with all proceeds going to the children’s charity.
Santa, alongside his team of elves and a sack full of presents, will be bringing joy and magic to anyone who visits the workshop.
Charlie House is looking for 50 elves to come forward and help run the event by greeting visitors, supporting bookings and helping hand out gifts.
For adults looking to get into the festive spirit, Charlie House’s Recharge Cafe is also hosting a series of workshops that are sure to spark inner creativity.
Local creators will be providing a range of yarn craft classes including felt work, peg loom weaving, chunky hat knitting and macrame decorations for anyone looking to create handmade gifts or learn a new skill.
Christmas ‘most exciting’ time for Charlie House
Susan Crighton, director of fundraising at Charlie House, said the Christmas period is one of the “busiest and most exciting times of the year” for the charity.
She said: “We’re extremely grateful for Bon Accord Aberdeen who partners with us on a yearly basis to deliver an incredibly popular event, alongside our year-round initiatives, that really brings joy to everyone’s faces.
“This programme of events would simply not be possible without our incredible volunteers or the local businesses who collaborate with us. We are so thankful for the time everyone donates to us which in return helps us with our mission to support families with life-limiting conditions.”
Craig Stevenson, centre manager at Bon Accord Aberdeen is pleased that the partnership with Charlie House has brought many “fantastic” initiatives like Santa’s Workshop, Big Bounce Aberdeen and Curated Aberdeen to the city centre.
He said: “We are delighted to welcome Santa back to his workshop in Bon Accord, bringing festive magic to the city’s heart.
Santa’s Workshop will be open from 9.30am until 5pm every weekend. Tickets are available here.
