Police are hunting a white van involved in an alleged hit-and-run with a school bus carrying more than 60 Kemnay Academy pupils.
A ladder smashed through the windscreen of the bus as it did the run from Kintore to Kemnay at about 8.10am.
It is believed the van was driving in the opposite direction on the B994 Kintore to Kemnay road when a ladder came off the vehicle and went through the windscreen of the Premier Coaches vehicle.
The bus driver suffered facial injuries from the shattered glass and around 30 pupils on board were also reportedly covered in pieces of the smashed side windows.
Some school staff who were travelling behind the bus witnessed the incident and assisted the pupils.
The coach operator sent another bus at the scene within 25 minutes and transferred the children to the academy, where they were seen by first aiders.
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman confirmed no children were hurt, however, some were suffering from shock and cold.
One pupil was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precaution amid concerns they suffered a concussion.
Premier Coaches declined to comment.
