The road was closed to traffic with emergency services at the scene for about an hour and a half while the three vehicle involved were being recovered.
One man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. His condition is currently remains unknown.
The road reopened at around 5.20pm and one of the drivers was arrested for road traffic offences.
A police spokesman said: “Around 4.05pm on Friday, November 4, police were called to the B977 at Kintore, following a report of a three-vehicle crash.
“One man has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.
“The was closed while recovery was arranged and it re-opened at around 5.20pm.
“A man, one of the drivers, has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
