Motorists are being urged to be extra careful while on the roads over the next few days, with ice and gales predicted for the north and north-east.
A Met Office yellow warning for ice remains in place for the north-east for today and tomorrow.
Winter weather caused disruption on roads across the area today with snow gate closures on the A93 Aberdeen to Perth road, in both directions, at Glenshee and Fettercairn.
Elsewhere, a yellow warning is in place for gales across the north, with gusts of up to 60mph predicted for the region.
Gales of around 35mph are also anticipated for the north-east.
This could cause high tides in coastal areas which, in turn, could lead to flooding.
Forecasters are predicting top temperatures of 5 or 6C in the north-east for today and tomorrow, while further north could reach as low as 1 or 2C.
This could result in some snow and sleet showers across the region.
Later in the week, however, temperatures are expected to rise by two or three degrees as an area of low pressure moves in from the west of Scotland.
But forecasters are warning this spell of warmer weather will not last, with temperatures due to plummet by Friday again as a spell of “polar maritime air” moves in from the north.
