Police are appealing for information to find a north-east woman after her car was found abandoned in the car park of a north-east landmark.
A major search operation has been launched at Dunnottar Castle, south of Stonehaven, after Shona Johnstone’s black Nissan X-trail was discovered parked at the entrance.
The 35-year-old had been reported missing from her Mearns home by her “concerned” family earlier that day.
Police have urged anyone with any information that might help find her to contact the force.
A spokesman said: “There is concern for her welfare and anyone with information regarding Shona is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
Ms Johnstone is described as being around 5ft 6, of a slim build with short brown hair.
She was wearing blue jeans, ankle boots and possibly a blue zip-up jacket.
