Rescue teams have spent the morning searching the area near Dunnottar Castle as the hunt for a missing Aberdeenshire woman continues.
Shona Johnston, was reported missing from her Mearns home by her “concerned” family on Tuesday and a major search operation was launched after the 35-year-old’s car was discovered at Dunnottar Castle.
An Aberdeen Coastguard spokesman confirmed rescue teams from Montrose, Arbroath and Stonehaven are all involved and that the Stonehaven lifeboat might also be used in the search.
Police have urged anyone with any information that might help find her to contact the force.
Ms Johnston is described as being around 5ft 6, of a slim build with short brown hair.
She was wearing blue jeans, ankle boots and possibly a blue zip-up jacket.
