Tui has launched a recruitment drive for new cabin crew in Aberdeen.
The under-pressure airline – which has come under fire repeatedly recently for delayed flights and problems with luggage – is looking for more than 300 staff to become part of the team at 13 airport bases.
Candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment that gives them an opportunity to see what life is like as a Tui cabin crew.
Tui is the UK’s largest tour operator with the airline operating to 79 destinations in 33 countries with more than 68 aircraft.
In recent months, staffing pressures have been repeatedly blamed for widespread disruption on Tui flights.
However, other operational difficulties have also played their part in disrupting some of the airline’s flights to the Granite City.
Tui hopes the new recruits will be ready for summer 2023.
Do you have what it takes to join the Tui cabin crew?
According to the company’s website, they have a list of requirements that any potential new cabin crew must be able to:
- Swim 80ft unaided.
- Reach a minimum height of 6ft 2ins without shoes on.
- Speak and write English fluently.
- Work a varied shift pattern for an airline that operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
- Live within 90 minutes of the airport base.
- Quickly form relationships with a diverse range of colleagues, both in the air and on the ground.
Successful candidates will be invited to a virtual assessment.
Once selected, all crew will complete an “intensive” training course of approximately four to six weeks.
Passing the course is a requirement prior to starting the job, which includes a combination of practical and theory exams.
Dawn Wilson, chief operating officer Tui Airline, said: “Having started my own career as cabin crew, I know the importance of this role delivering outstanding customer experience on our TUI flights.”
“We actively encourage applications from all candidates, those finishing education or looking to start their career.”
