There have been power, internet and television outages reported across the north-east during torrential rain.
People scattered across the area have had various outages since Thursday night.
Those with Sky broadband seem to be the most affected by internet outages. But the operator says it has now resolved the issues.
It comes after almost a month’s rainfall is predicted to fall in the area over the next few days.
According to the Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN), which manages the north and north-east’s power, engineers were in attendance at several locations.
Where are people reporting outages?
Reports of outages came in from the following areas:
- Aberdeen
- Banff
- Ellon
- Laurencekirk
- Fettercairn
- Auchenblae
- Turriff
- Inverurie
- Elgin
- Kintore
Keep up to date with SSEN’s power tracker of reported outages.
In the afternoon, some customers reported their internet and electricity returning after the morning outages.
SSEN: ‘Small and localised cuts’
An SSEN spokesman said: “Following high winds across the north and north-east of Scotland overnight and into this morning, SSEN is dealing with a number of small, localised power cuts.
“The single biggest fault currently being repaired and restored is in the Kintore and Fintry area with around 200 customers affected, with an expected restoration time of 3pm today.
“All of these faults are fully resourced, with engineers working to quickly and safely restore power to affected customers. Priority Services Register customers are being proactively contacted to ensure their requirements are being met until their supplies are restored.
“SSEN asks that any customers who see damage to the network stay clear of the area and report the damage by calling the 105 free emergency number, so engineers can attend as soon as possible.”
SSEN says to report damage to the network, call free emergency number 105. They apologise for any inconvenience caused.
