Drivers are being urged to be extra careful tomorrow as icy temperatures hit after days of rain.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray, which comes into force from 8pm.
Aberdeenshire Council’s gritters are being drafted in, but commuters are being advised to be extra cautious in the morning.
Temperatures are expected to plummet below freezing, with forecasters warning of foggy and icy conditions.
Residents in Ballater and Braemar will see temperatures drop to -2C by 8am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, in Aberdeen City, temperatures will be about 3C.
The warning comes as communities across the north-east battle to recover from severe flooding.
Residents in Kintore, Ballater, Kemnay and Inverurie have worked tirelessly to clear up the deluge of water from the rivers Dee and Don.
Efforts are also ongoing to find missing Monymusk woman Hazel Nairn, who was swept away by the Don on Friday.
When will the warning come into force?
The yellow weather warning will remain in place until 9.30am on Monday.
The warning will cover Aberdeen City as well as surrounding communities, including, Laurencekirk, Stonehaven, Inverurie and Ballater.
Large parts of the Cairngorms will also bear the brunt as well as Keith and Dufftown.
Aberdeenshire Council have confirmed road crews will remain on standby overnight, ahead of treatment works commencing on local footpaths from 7am.
