Pitmedden Nursery has sent its children home for the day after the heating broke down.
There are currently 52 registered in the nursery.
Children at the primary school in the same building have been unaffected and are continuing their day as normal.
The nursery is planning on having the heating repaired for class to resume normally tomorrow.
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman said: “As a result of an issue with the boiler which meant we couldn’t get the nursery room up to temperature, the decision was taken to send the children home this morning.
“The system is being checked today and we hope to welcome the children back tomorrow.”
