A development group in the north-east’s largest town is launching a community survey to set the course of future projects.
The Here For You Partnership is a joint initiative between Peterhead Projects and Fraserburgh Development Trust.
The organisations have overseen a whole host of projects including a community caravan park in Peterhead and the nationally-recognised Super Saturday scheme in Fraserburgh.
Now the Neighbourhood Survey in Peterhead will ask how residents feel about their immediate area, health and wellbeing, education and training, employment and crime and community safety.
Simon Bedford, Here For You social regeneration officer, said: “We would also like to know whether residents are aware of local support organisations and how we can improve future employability and family welfare support.
“Evidence collected will inform the development of sustainable projects for short to long-term support that focus on social regeneration of the neighbourhoods that have the greatest impact on education and skills, economic and health outcomes, ultimately leading to the long term sustainability and wellbeing of communities.”
Questions on the survey, which can also be completed online, cover topics including how residents feel about their local neighbourhood, how often they use local shows and which forms of public transport are taken.
The detailed study will even cover healthy eating habits of families in Peterhead, as well as concerns about crime and employment.
Volunteers will undertake the door-to-door survey shortly. Feedback from will be available once the information has been collated in April.
Peterhead Projects is a social enterprised owned by the community and founded in 2009.
The initiative currents manages the 2ReUse recycling centre, the Lido caravan park and a town centre shop.
Late last year Peterhead Projects also secured funding for a community woodland on the outskirts of the town which will be used to educate local school pupils.
