Members of the public are being urged to come forward if they see clothes or other belongings that may lead to the whereabouts of a missing Aberdeenshire woman.
Mother-of-two Shona Johnston was last seen in Stonehaven town centre at 1pm last Tuesday.
Her black Nissan X-Trail was later found parked at Dunnottar Castle, sparking a major air, land and sea search.
But with no trace of the 35-year-old, police began scaling back the search on Friday – with the coastguard teams, police divers and lifeboat teams stood down.
Now the search will focus only on land, with officers concentrating on the shoreline and cliff paths to the north and south of the castle.
And the public are being asked to assist – by keeping a lookout for any clothing or belongings that could have been left behind by Mrs Johnston.
When she was last seen on Robert Street, she was wearing a green fleece, jeans and ankle boots.
Inspector Jon Millar said: “Extensive inquiries have been carried out in the local area in a bid to trace Shona.
“This is still a missing person inquiry and I would ask that anyone with information gets in touch with us.
“In addition if anyone sees any clothing or belongings or anything usual please contact us as this could be relevant to our inquiries.
“Searches have been scaled back but any new information will be considered and acted upon.”
Mrs Johnston, who moved to Drumlithie from her native Orkney five months ago, is described as being 5ft 6in, of slim build with short brown hair.
It is understood that no belongings other than the car have been located.
Last week her mother, Sheena Ritch – who visited her daughter, son-in-law Graham and two granddaughters in their new home last weekend – said they were “devastated” by her disappearance.
