Aberdeen residents have been warned that TV interference may occur while upgrades are made to mobile networks across the city.
A number of improvements are being made this month to boost speed, performance and coverage.
While work is carried out, there is a “small chance” viewers could experience intermittent sound, pixelation or a loss of TV signal.
Restore TV, a programme run by Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited, is providing support, including free filters, to anyone affected so they can continue to access free to view TV.
Interference is most likely in areas with weak digital reception and will only occur on TV received through an aerial, including Freeview, BT, TalkTalk and YouView.
Cable and satellite will not be affected.
Free support available
Ben Roome, chief executive of Restore TV, said: “We know just how important TV is to inform, entertain and provide welcome company. Restore TV exists to ensure we all can continue to access free to view TV as mobile services are improved across the country.
“If you see new TV interference, we’re on hand to help you resolve the issue. We can send a Restore TV filter, free of charge, for you to fit between your aerial lead and TV or set-top box to remove mobile signals and allow you to watch free to view TV as normal.
“Full instructions are included, and we can provide further advice online and by phone if needed.
“In most instances, fitting the filter will resolve any issues, but if this isn’t the case, we may also be able to arrange a follow-up visit from a Restore TV engineer at no cost, depending on eligibility.”
Additional support is available for those aged 75 and older, people registered blind or partially sighted, and anyone who receives personal independence payments, attendance allowance or War Pensioner’s Mobility Support.
Restore TV can be contacted on 0808 1313 800 or via the website here.
