Staff at a Fraserburgh pet shop were in shock this morning after a man robbed the premises at knifepoint.
Pets Palace owner Graham Skene and staff member Linda McRobbie were feeding the animals in the Hanover Street shop when a lone robber entered with a blade yesterday.
The man entered the shop at around 4.30pm and is understood to have said: “Sorry, but this is a robbery”.
Pets Palace was closed yesterday and the armed thief only made off with the £60 float from in the till.
This morning Ms McRobbie said the shop was opened as usual. She said: “We’re open because otherwise you let them win. I just wish I’d been able to get a decent night’s sleep.”
No one was injured during the incident.
Police Scotland is appealing for information and a spokeswoman said: “The suspect is described as being a man, wearing blue jeans and a black jacket with distinctive white logos on the chest and shoulders.
“A group of young people are believed to have passed the shop prior to the incident and may have information that could assist enquiries.”
Officers have urged witnesses to come forward immediately.
