A pervert doctor who flouted an internet ban as he faced charges of paying a woman to have children perform sex acts for him over Skype yesterday escaped further jail time.
Dr Kieran Titheridge was jailed for three years and seven months last week after he admitted making four payments to an unidentified woman over a two-month period.
Titheridge, who worked at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, had the choice of girls, ranging in age from three to 14, who would strip for him over Skype.
When police raided his home they found a stash of child abuse images on his computer.
Yesterday it emerged that following his initial appearance in court the medic had been banned from accessing the internet for anything other than work purposes.
He was caught flouting that bail condition when police officers carried out a spot check.
Fiscal depute Alex Piper told Dundee Sheriff Court: “When they turned on his phone the first screen to appear was Google Maps.
“The condition was not to access the internet from any device capable of such access.
“He admitted to having accessed the internet on his mobile phone for purposes other than work but denied it was for child images.”
Titheridge, 34, of South Street, Arbroath, admitted breaching bail on September 4 last year.
Defence solicitor Ross Bennett said: “He was a doctor and is now serving a lengthy sentence. His career is gone.”
Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC admonished Titheridge, who was not present in court, and said: “Given that he is already serving a three-year seven-month sentence and given that on the face of it this was a technical breach I won’t make any further order.”
Last week the High Court in Aberdeen heard Titheridge was caught after detectives were told the medic had sent money through PayPal to an email account between October 14, 2012, and December 26, 2012.
Officers raided his home in the city as well has his family home in Arbroath. Laptops seized from both addresses contained a total of 366 photographs of children and two videos.
Messages sent through Skype revealed Titheridge had engaged in several conversations with a foreign woman, in which he had asked her if she had naked young girls and requested their age.
She asked him if he wanted to “play” and told him he would have to pay $30 for the service.
He sent a further three $10 payments for sexual services involving children to the woman on different dates.
