Having hit 60, comedian Jenny Eclair will celebrate being younger than Madonna but will also confront a new decade of decrepitude when she returns to Aberdeen.

One of the country’s best-loved stand-up comedians has extended her tour due to popular demand. And with her previous Aberdeen show selling out, fans can look forward to seeing Jenny in the Granite City again in autumn next year.

The funnywoman will have a moan that it takes 20 minutes of scrolling down to find her date of birth when she’s filling in forms online and wonder what this new decade holds for her.

The updated show  – now called Sixty Plus (FFS!) – will contain brand new material for 2023.

Doug Taylor, of local promoter Mint of Montrose, said: “We can’t wait to welcome Jenny for what will be a terrific night of peerless comedy.”

Jenny was the first woman to win the Perrier Award – the UK’s top comedy award – in 1995. Since then, she has also found fame as the author of critically acclaimed novels. Her latest, Older and Wider: A Survivor’s Guide to the Menopause quickly became a bestseller when it was released in 2020.

Some of her small-screen highlights include The Apprentice: You’re Fired!, Room 101 (BBC), Loose Women (ITV), and more.

Jenny Eclair will bring her new show Sixty Plus! (FFS!) to Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre on Wednesday September 6 before travelling to Dundee’s Gardyne Theatre on Friday September 8.

Tickets will go on sale at noon, Friday December 2.
