Thousands of Christmas lights and festive displays came to life this weekend as the community in Peterhead kicked off the festive season.
The Blue Toon is now shining in an array of bright colours – each more mesmerising than the next – with a vibrant festive cheer spreading far and wide across the town.
Locals and visitors were treated with a full day of Christmas celebrations on Saturday, with a wide range of events keeping everyone entertained from dusk until dawn.
Dozens of performers took part in the celebrations, which also included fun fair rides, Christmas carols and an abundance of freshly prepared food from local producers.
Santa also made it to town along with his elves and faithful friends, the reindeers, to spread some Christmas magic and hear all about local children’s wishes.
Families lined up the streets as a special reindeer parade weaved its way through the town before the annual switch on of the tree lights at Drummers Corner.
This was followed by the hugely popular truck parade, as well as a spectacular fireworks display to get everyone in the Christmas mood.
