An Aberdeen bar with a table carrying a price tag of more than £1,000 that closed in January will reopen as a restaurant and late night lounge, after proposals were approved by Aberdeen City Council.
The Licensing Board have approved the plans submitted in January to transform One Diamond Street into a restaurant similar to London’s swanky Quaglino’s, complete with capacity for 180 diners and live entertainment until 2am.
Also approved by the council were plans for a dumb waiter to be installed between One Diamond Street and its sister champagne bar directly underneath, Eclectic Fizz, allowing for food service between the two restaurants.
The board also approved plans for under 18’s to eat with their parents before 10pm, but required that tables and chairs be placed in the sunken dance floor until food service finishes for the evening.
Bosses have predicted the new-look One Diamond Street will open in early April.
