A 26-year-old man is due to appear in court next week after thousands of pounds worth of heroin was seized from a car in Aberdeen.
An £18,000 stash of the class-A drug was recovered from a vehicle on Balnagask Road on Thursday as part of Operation Maple, which targets drugs, alcohol and anti-social behaviour across the city.
The man is due to appear in court on Monday.
The latest activity in Operation Maple, on Wednesday and Thursday, also focused on offenders who were wanted on warrant for alcohol-related violence.
As a result, a 29-year-old woman and three men, aged 23, 36 and 45, were due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Police have also charged a 21-year-old man in relation to a number of vandalism offences in the Bridge of Don and Danestone areas of Aberdeen last month.
It is anticipated he will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.
Operation Maple is a police initiative started in October 2010, which brings together partners from the voluntary and public sectors, including the Scottish Government, NHS Grampian and Aberdeen City Council.
Last month addresses in the city-centre and the west end were dramatically raided by police after tip-offs about suspected brothels.
Further raids for drugs took place throughout the city, including in the Bridge of Don, Rosemount and Kittybrewster areas.
A total of six men, and one woman, were reported to the procurator fiscal in relation to the supply of controlled drugs.
West end duty inspector Ian McKinnon said: “We respond to community concerns and are proactive in the areas where they are highlighted.
“Operation Maple is a very mature operation now and it will remain for the foreseeable future.”
