Police were called to Aberdeen city centre early this morning following reports of an alleged assault on a 21-year-old woman.
Officers sealed off the St Nicholas Centre rooftop garden after the alarm was raised at around 5am.
Police tape was seen draped across the staircase outside the centre as officers carried out investigations.
Later in the morning, officers opened up the rainbow steps again as their attention focused on the stairs leading to the grounds of St Nicholas Kirk.
Officers could be seen standing in the rooftop garden to prevent people accessing the churchyard from the rooftop garden.
However, the graveyard has remained open throughout the day. Police say their inquiries remain ongoing.
A police spokesman said: “Around 5am on Sunday, December 11, police received a report of the alleged assault of a 21-year-old woman. Inquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.”
