North-east fans won’t have to walk 500 miles to see The Proclaimers as the rockers will soon play an Aberdeen venue.

The Reid brothers, who will also perform in Inverness on Thursday December 15, will conclude their 11-date nationwide tour in Aberdeen. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming gig.

When and where will The Proclaimers perform?

The Proclaimers will play Aberdeen’s P&J Live on Saturday December 17. Doors open at 6pm, with the support band expected to take to the stage at 7.45pm. The Proclaimers are set to perform from 8.45pm to 10.15pm.

What are The Proclaimers best known for?

Strikingly individual, twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid rose to fame three decades ago with their debut album This Is The Story and top single Letter From America. Since then, their enduring appeal across generations has seen them enjoy huge success across the globe.

Which songs will they perform?

Famous for their smash hit I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), The Proclaimers will also perform other hits from their 12 studio albums including Then I Met You and Letter From America.

Who’s the support act?

The Proclaimers will be supported by Scottish-born and London-based Ross Wilson who’s better known by his stage name Blue Rose Code. His music is described to “evoke a meeting of Van Morrison and a young John Martyn, both shipwrecked with a bunch of Motown records”.

How do I get to P&J Live to see The Proclaimers in Aberdeen?

Venue bosses would like to encourage gig-goers to use public transport.

Bus

Stagecoach will be operating its 727 Service between Union Square and P&J Live, running every 15-30 minutes. Additional busses will depart from Union Square to the venue on a dedicated PJ1 service from 5.50pm.
