An appeal to raise money to repair a young mum’s headstone after it was vandalised in Hazlehead Cemetery has collected more than £400 within a day of being set up.
The grave of Sharmaine Brown, who died last year aged just 26, was covered in white paint last week and pictures of her two sons thrown in a nearby bin.
Now an online campaign has opened, with the title “let’s make a family smile”.
It aims to raise £1,000 to repair the damage and had received 28 separate donations by last night.
The headstone was set up by Ms Brown’s mother last year at a cost of £1,700.
Aberdeen City Council has said responsibility for repairing the damage lies with the lair owners.
Police are carrying out inquiries into the vandalism.
