Christopher Scott admitted speeding in the 70mph zone last year as he was travelling near Gauchhill, Kintore. The 30-year-old appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday to be sentenced. Sheriff William Summers told him he would not be doing his job properly if he did not consider a jail sentence. “This is an absolutely incredible speed,” he told Scott. “I think I would be failing in my duty if I did not seriously consider that you should go to jail.” The sheriff delayed sentencing until next month for a social work report to be produced. He also disqualified Scott, of 5 Beltie View, Alford, from driving.
