Plans to build more than 100 homes in the west of Aberdeen have been recommended for approval by city council officials.
Cala Homes has applied for permission to build 107 houses and 12 low cost flats on land to the north of Friarsfield Road and Kirk Brae, Cults.
The application has been revised from an original submission from the house-builder for 98 houses and 12 flats.
The new proposals for the development would be 65% detached, 23% semi-detached and 3% terraced properties.
The council’s head of planning, Margaret Bochel, has signalled a willingness to accept the plans, subject to the affordable housing provision and contributions towards local schools, sports and health facilities and road improvements.
Cults, Bieldside and Milltimber Community Council has objected to the application, along with other private individuals.
Concerns have been raised that there is not a large enough provision of affordable housing, and that the increase in properties would put additional pressure on local schools.
The area of land is part of a larger site identified in the local development plan as being suitable for up to 280 homes.
In a report to the planning development management committee, Ms Bochel said: “It is therefore concluded that the proposed development demonstrates due regard for the relevant provisions of the development plan, and no material considerations have been identified which would warrant a determination other than in accordance with the plan.”
The committee will consider the application at a meeting on Thursday.(March 19
