Two people remain in hospital with “potentially life threatening injuries” following the two-car crash, on Peterhead’s South Road shortly before 9pm.
Five people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary hospital following the accident.
A police spokesman today confirmed that all five remain in hospital and that two of the injured had “potentially life threatening injuries”.
Police, fire and ambulance teams were called to the scene of the crash where fire teams had to remove one person from one of the cars using cutting gear.
The road was reopened at around 3.20pm today, a police spokeswoman confirmed.
