The annual Boxing Day Nippy Dip in Aberdeen made a long-awaited return today – with dozens of participants taking the icy plunge for charity.
After a two-year break due to Covid, brave swimmers couldn’t wait to once again dip their toes – or their whole bodies – into the freezing waters of the North Sea.
The sandy beach was coloured in red and green this morning as hardy souls donned all kinds of festive outfits to spread some Christmas cheer while supporting good causes.
Despite the beaming sun giving the false illusion of a warm winter day, daring swimmers had to endure temperatures as low as 2C to support their causes.
Here are the best pictures from today’s Boxing Day Nippy Dip taken by our photographer Chris Sumner.
