All the road closures in Aberdeen for Hogmanay street party

Thousands of people are expected to pack Aberdeen city centre on Hogmanay to bring in the bells at the street party.

The festivities bring cheer and crowds every year, which can cause disruption with road closures.

This year traffic restrictions will begin from as early as 6pm on Friday, December 30 with everything due to be back to normal by 6am on January 1.

We have prepared a list of which closures come in and when so you don’t get caught out driving about the city on Hogmanay.

From 6pm on December 30 until 6am on January 1

  • Schoolhill Pocket Park area will be closed at its junctions with Schoolhill.

From 10am on December 31 until 6am on January 1

  • Rosemount Viaduct (from Union Terrace to Blackfriars Street)
  • Schoolhill (from Blackfriars Street to Back Wynd)
  • Back Wynd (from Schoolhill to Little Belmont Street)
  • Blackfriars Street (from Rosemount Viaduct to St Andrew Street)
  • Belmont Street (from Schoolhill to Union Street)
  • Little Belmont Street (from Back Wynd to Belmont Street)
  • Gaelic Lane (from Belmont Street to Back Wynd)

  • Schoolhill (from Flourmill Lane to Harriet Street)
