A power cut affected 2,265 customers in the west end of the city at around 9.22am. According to an SSE spokeswoman, the power cut was caused by a “high voltage fault” at the Queen’s Lane North substation. The spokeswoman said: “Engineers were on site by 9.45am and restored power to over 1,200 customers. “The remaining 1,049 are expected to have their supply restored by midday today. “We would like to apologise for the inconvenience and thank customers for their patience while we work to get them back on supply.”
