Thousands of people are expected to flock to the north of Scotland to witness the solar eclipse.
Experts have predicted the eclipse will begin around 9.35am and last for three to four-minutes.
With that in mind, here are the five best spots across the north and north-east you can view the phenomenon.
Watch the solar eclipse live
1) The village of Aird Uig, on the Isle of Lewis, is predicted to be the best place in Scotland to view the eclipse – 98% of the sun will be blocked leaving just a small crescent of the sun visible.
2) The Met Office is also anticipating Inverness will have 98% of its light shut out at around 9.39am and Lerwick the same amount four minutes later.
3) Aberdeen is expected to have 95% of its light blocked out, which has not occurred since 1999.
The Torry Battery has been singled out as one of the best places in the world to view the cosmic event, with stargazers expected to flock there.
4) Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands is also expected to have around 95 or 96% of its light blocked out.
5) For those of you who can’t get to these areas tomorrow, Sumburgh Lighthouse, at the southern tip of the Shetlands, will be live-streaming images of the natural wonder.
The safest bet?
The furthest inland parts of Aberdeenshire are likely to provide the best opportunity to see the cosmic event – according to the most recent Met Office data. (However, they do clarify that with ‘it is impossible to predict the exact location for best viewing!)
