A glitzy 1920s-style casino night will be held next month to raise cash for a leading Aberdeen cancer charity.

Fourth year events management students from Robert Gordon University will be hosting a “Crystal Club Casino Night” on Friday, April 3 in aid of Clan Cancer Support.

The three students are hoping their charitable evening at the Copthorne Hotel, which will feature music from the Marisha Addison Quartet, poker and roulette tables, cocktail demonstrations and a three course meal, will be a full house.

One of the event organisers, Jade Hough, said: “Jenni Chandler, another member of my group, is really into the whole ‘speakeasy’ kind of scene and style, and we thought that a casino night would be quite good as we haven’t really ever seen a night like this in Aberdeen, especially one for charity.

“The decorations for the night are going to be really good, we’re aiming to make it as authentic as possible. We’ll have casino tables for people to gamble for Clan, although of course it will be prize gambling, not for money.

“The Marisha Addison Quartet is really jazzy, and we’re going to have 1920’s-themed cocktails as well, and really good raffle prizes from a variety of different local businesses in the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire area.”
