The audience at the P&J Live were treated to a motocross masterclass as part of the sport’s British Championship.
Motocross champions underwent the third round of the British Arenacross Championship at the P&J Live in Aberdeen last night.
The racers were treated to a full house of spectators with opportunities ahead of the event to get their autographs.
Doors to the three-hour long spectacle opened at 5pm when the rider pits are made accessible to all visitors.
This is a rare chance for fans to go behind the scenes and get close to the riders and their bikes.
Tommy Searle, the reigning British MX1 champ, took a start-to-finish victory ahead of MX2 champ Conrad Mewse who had battled with Arenacross specialist Jack Brunell until making a pass stick at two thirds race distance.
Searle looked comfortable on the challenging track and Mewse on a good pace in second. Brunell, still carrying injury from Belfast, finished a creditable third.
‘Love the adrenaline’
Last month, 12 year old motocross biker from Aberdeen spoke to the P&J ahead of the British Championships, revealing he started racing at the age of four.
He said: “I’ve been racing ever since. My grandad used to race, so I’d go to watch him sometimes. And I watch it on TV as well.
“There’s not much motocross in the UK so most of it comes from the USA.
“I love the adrenaline and going away seeing all my friends at races.”
Arenacross is set to return at the venue again tonight with the doors reopening at 2pm, Â rider signings at 3.30pm and a matinee performance starting at 4.30pm.
A small number of tickets for tonight’s event are still available on the P&J Live website.
