Thousands of eggs are being hidden across a historic Aberdeenshire estate in the run-up to a huge Easter Sunday event.
The decorated treasures have been hidden in secret locations across Haddo Country Park, near Oldmeldrum, in time for the annual hunt organised by the town’s rotary club.
A total of 1,500 hand-painted Easter eggs have been stashed away in the 247-acre grounds, which are home to lakes, ponds, woodlands and an array of wildlife.
About 5,000 people flock to the attraction to enjoy the Easter fun day every year.
A host of other activities will be taking place on the day, including an egg decorating competition, face painting and an egg race down the “Scots Mile” in front of 18th century Haddo House.
Oldmeldrum Rotary Club president, Sheena Clarke, said: “The team at Haddo Country Park, including estate staff, their colleagues at National Trust for Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council, as well as a whole host of volunteers, all put in so much work to make sure visitors have an enjoyable experience.
“We look forward to what promises to be another memorable day.”
The event is free to enter, and the egg hunt will take place from 10am to 3pm.
